Kri.ni Project takes its name from the ancient Kallirroi Spring, once Athens’ main source of water and a place of ritual and gathering. The project is conceived as an entire residential block in the center of Athens, introducing four short-stay apartments across different levels, each with its own distinct layout and atmosphere. Color, light, and spatial composition are orchestrated to create interiors that are vibrant yet intimate, echoing both the city’s history and its present rhythm. Sculptural forms, organic lines, and bold accents define the architecture. This sense of flow, memory, and continuity becomes the foundation of a contemporary architectural narrative.
At the heart of the design lies a sculptural element, a contemporary translation of ancient Greek heritage, that connects the project with the city’s cultural layers. The design is driven by two central principles: local identity and modern interpretation, always responding to today’s living needs.
Interiors are defined by tones inspired by ancient Greece, mustard yellow, deep bordeaux, terracotta, and Aegean blue combined with natural wood, glass bricks, and textured plaster. Travertine, cement finishes, and small rectangular tiling bring a tactile rhythm, while black-and-white striped details add a contemporary accent. A carved wooden relief, coated in plaster, becomes the project’s sculptural centerpiece: a symbolic gesture linking ancient craftsmanship with modern design.
At the rooftop, a communal lounge completes the project as a contemporary oasis in the heart of Athens. Surrounded by greenery and designed with sculptural seating and vibrant accents, it extends the narrative of flow and connection, offering residents and visitors a shared space to relax, socialize, and enjoy the views of the city.
The result is a series of intimate yet vibrant spaces, where light, color, and texture create a dialogue between past and present. Kri.ni becomes a modern urban retreat: rooted in locality, enriched by history, and designed for the rhythms of contemporary life.
