In the heart of Kolonaki, an interwar apartment is transformed into a contemporary workspace where history and modern life coexist. The design preserves the original architecture while adapting the spaces to the needs of a consulting office. Designed by Dimitris Fotiadis, the building holds a strong architectural and cultural identity which the intervention seeks to maintain and subtly reinterpret.
Key architectural elements remain intact, keeping the history of the space visible. Parisian references connected to Kolonaki’s neoclassical character appear through carefully curated furniture and refined detailing.
A central aim was to create an atmospheric environment while reflecting the client’s appreciation for art. Alongside artworks from their collection, bespoke elements including decorative wallpapers in the meeting room and custom furniture add depth and artistic character.
Bold colors interact with light and materials including glass, marble and wood shaping spaces with varying intensity. The original layout and structure were preserved with functions adapted to new needs reinforcing continuity and authenticity.
Ultimately the project embraces the passage of time allowing past and present to coexist. The result is a layered expressive workspace that balances elegance functionality and respect for the building’s history.
